Southeast Geographic Skinny Pop-Up Tomorrow (June 25)!

Here's a new skinny notebook with a photo of Glacier Bay on the outside and a map on the inside.

Whew, have I ever been busy - but I think you are going to love the results!

June has been all about sourcing and upcycling old atlases and coffee table books into skinny notebooks like the one pictured here.

It was a lot of work - each one of these takes about half an hour to make - but nothing pleases me more than turning an unloved old book into something useful. I've currently got Glacier Bay, Juneau, Tracy Arm, Misty Fjords, Petersburg, and Sitka skinnies completed; by the July pop-up next month (date TBD), I should have Tenakee Springs, Yakutat, Haines, and Skagway done as well.

Speaking of unloved books: I found an old encyclopedia. If you're ... of a certain age ... your parents might have worked hard to afford a set of these "everything atlases" to make sure you could do your homework.

I'll admit: I've got a soft spot for these. But you can't give them away anymore! Well, I haven't figured out a way to make these into skinny notebooks (yet!), but I have made sets of refill notepads with them.

The new skinnies and refills will be debuting tomorrow at my June pop-up. If you'd like to see them in person, stop by the Juneau Ben Franklin Store downtown at 233 Front Street. I'll be there tomorrow - June 25, 2022 - from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Hope to see you there!

Mary
